2. Definitions
"Seller" – SCALUX S.R.L.
"Buyer" – any individual or legal entity placing an order.
"Product" – interior staircases and accessories sold through the website.
"Contract" – the agreement between the parties relating to the sale and purchase of products.
3. Product Description
The products sold through this website are interior staircases delivered as a kit, in standard catalogue configurations, made from premium materials. The kit contains the necessary components — structure, treads, handrail and fixing elements — together with the assembly instructions, included in the package.
Some models allow adjustments at the time of ordering: the number of treads, the width, the tread finish or the colour of the metal structure. These are predefined configuration options, chosen from a list we provide, and they do not turn the product into goods made to the consumer's specifications.
Images are for illustration only. The final product may show minor variations in colour or texture, due to the nature of solid wood.
4. Order Process
Placing an order involves the following steps:
- You contact us by phone, e-mail or through the form on the website
- We send you the offer, with the model, configuration and final price
- You confirm the order
- You pay the full amount
- We ship the kit, together with the assembly instructions
We do not travel to your location to take measurements and we do not carry out the assembly. If you are unsure about dimensions, you can send us the measurements of your space and we will confirm which model fits.
5. Prices and Payment Methods
Prices are expressed in LEI (RON) and include VAT. The final price is the one stated in the offer and includes delivery anywhere in Romania.
Payment is made in full, before the product is shipped.
Accepted payment methods:
- Bank transfer
- Cash at the company's registered office
- Bank card (coming soon)
6. Delivery
Delivery is free anywhere in Romania and is included in the product price. The delivery time is 2-3 working days from order confirmation, for models in stock. If the chosen model is not in stock, we tell you the exact lead time in the offer, before you confirm the order.
Assembly is not included in the price. Staircases are delivered as a kit and are assembled by the buyer, following the instructions included in the package. SCALUX does not provide assembly services.
7. Legal guarantee of conformity
Independently of the commercial warranty we offer, as a consumer you are entitled to the legal guarantee of conformity provided by Romanian Government Emergency Ordinance no. 140/2021, for 2 years from delivery of the product.
If the product is not in conformity with the contract, you are entitled, in this order, to have it brought into conformity by repair or replacement and, where this is impossible or is not carried out within a reasonable time, to a proportionate price reduction or to termination of the contract. These rights are granted to you by law and exercising them is free of charge.
The commercial warranty described below is in addition to these rights; it neither replaces nor restricts them in any way.
8. Commercial warranty
All products carry a 10-year commercial warranty against manufacturing defects. The commercial warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear
- Damage caused by misuse
- Modifications carried out by third parties
- Damage caused by extreme environmental conditions
The exclusions above concern only the 10-year commercial warranty and do not affect the 2-year legal guarantee of conformity.
9. Right of Withdrawal
Orders are placed at a distance — by phone, e-mail or through the form on the website. As a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days, without giving any reason and without penalty, under Romanian Government Emergency Ordinance no. 34/2014.
The 14-day period runs from the day on which you take physical possession of the product. Our staircases are kits in standard configurations, not goods made to your specifications, therefore the statutory exception for customised goods does not apply.
9.1. How to exercise this right
You inform us of your decision by an unequivocal statement, at ionut@scalux.ro or by phone at +40 756 080 853. You may use the form in section 9.4, but you are not required to. It is enough to send the communication before the 14-day period expires.
9.2. Returning the product
You return the product to us within 14 days of the day you informed us of your withdrawal. You bear the cost of returning the goods. A staircase is a bulky product that cannot normally be returned by post; the estimated return shipping cost is 300-500 lei, depending on your location and on the chosen model.
The product must be returned complete and, as far as possible, in its original packaging. You are liable for any diminished value of the product resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning — for example, fully assembling the staircase and then dismantling it.
9.3. Reimbursement
We reimburse all payments received from you within 14 days of the day we are informed of your withdrawal, using the same means of payment you used, unless we agree otherwise. We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the product back or until you supply evidence of having sent it back, whichever is the earliest.
9.4. Model withdrawal form

All materials on this website (text, images, logos, design) are the property of SCALUX S.R.L. and are protected by copyright law.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms & Conditions when our services or the applicable legislation change. Changes are published on this page together with the update date and take effect 15 days after publication.
Contracts already concluded remain governed by the version of the Terms in force at the date of signing; subsequent changes do not apply retroactively to those contracts. If you do not agree with the changes, you may stop using the website.
14. Personal Data Protection
The data you send us through this website is processed by SCALUX S.R.L., as controller, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR). What data we collect, for what purpose, on what legal basis, who we disclose it to and how long we keep it are described in detail in our Privacy Policy.

These Terms & Conditions are governed by Romanian law. Any disputes shall be resolved by the competent courts of Romania.
